Considering this was the fandom that drove me over the edge into slash, I hold this fandom dear to my heart. I'll probably always be in this fandom, even though the series is over and the movies are getting near to it.

geek - Really, I don't see how I can elaborate on this further as this is, of course, what I am. I am a geek. Well, to be more specific, I'm several kinds of geek. But to list them all would take up a good chunk of this post.

1776 - Ah, this is a fandom I really need to be more involved in. Historical!fanfic can just be so much fun. And the movie was awesome too. Oddly, a friend of mine and my husband said that 1776 reminded her of Monty Python. I'll have to ponder that one.

slash - Well yes, that's really a given, isn't it? Me without slash is like the ocean without water. Since being married though, I feel like I've neglected my slash fiction. That and there's so many things I still need to read. *stares at A Long, Hard Road*

slytherin - This is so totally my house and always will be. That and Snape and Draco are just... yeah. Something about the bad boys, I guess.

That is so easy. The world will end with the Dalek/Cyberman war. (Daleks fighting Cybermen, not them fighting together.) Of course, that would leave all the immortals alive, but that's okay because Methos and Duncan can hitch a ride with the Doctor. Also Jack Bauer, because he's immortal by default.

Yeah, I'm not kidding.

Taken from dreadcentral.com:
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.

Aw yeah, I'm totally putting this on my book list.

It's time for...

The Year in Review

January

This was the beginning of not only the year, but of something wonderful... On January 6, 2008, I met in person the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. It was only on a whim that I joined the DnD meetup group and that I happened to recognize a picture of one of the members. It was the same person I had been talking to on OkCupid since December. So I of course asked if he was going to the meetup. He said he was.
He was actually a bit late as he got lost, but when he walked in the door, I really became nervous. Chris smiled and asked if I was Mel from OkCupid and smiled back. Then the DM asked if he could help since it was a big group. So he got to DM my group. And I proceeded to do stupid things during the game. -.- But anyway, we went out to dinner later on and he met my parents and my sisters. Then we just hung out for the rest of the evening until we went back to my house as I was going to be on an anime podcast that night. I asked if he wanted to be on with me. So we watched Howl's Moving Castle together before hand. ...never did watch the end though. ^.^ But yeah, it was really a magical day. We've been together every day since. ...okay, that was really long for just one day in January, but it was a special one. The rest of the month really can't compare. ^^ The other big thing that was unfortunately depressing was the death of Heath Ledger. Not enough sad faces in the world.

February

Another excellent month! Halfway in, I had moved into Chris' apartment. <3 Basically at this point, I was living/breathing all things Chris so there wasn't much to report for this month.

March

In March, I was laid off of my temp job. Blah. However, my temp agency found me another one within a week! Yay! And then Chris found a temp job of his own. Yay!

April

...Haha, just kidding! temp job is gone by mid-April. Mel tells temp agencies they can suck it! However, Chris' job is going well. In fandom news, the trial of the <strike>century</strike> <strike>year</strike> month begins as RDR books and SVA go against JKR. Because RDR books didn't have anything better to do apparently.

May

Chris and I get sick of the apartments and move in with my parents. Not bad, just cramped in here. The job hunt continues, but not much luck.

June

Stuff and things. Not much to this month really. Job hunting and such, nothing exciting.

July

My birthday! And Chris spends way too much on me! <3 Also, on July 4th, he officially proposes to me. It is also around this time that I finally land a job, yay! At an overly, ultra Christian school... Okay, how bad can it be, right? ^.^ Also we go to see the Dark Knight. OMG WHY DID HEATH DIE?!?!! DDDD: Also, I discover Dr. Horrible. HUZZAH!

August

I start my new job and Chris quits his temp job to go to school full time. I begin to wonder what I was thinking. Bible versions... in their science books. JUST WAT.

September

Work is still WAT. Chris is doing well in classes. We have much fun going to Busch Gardens' Howl o' Scream. I love amusement parks!

October

Huzzah! Halloween time! We spend a month playing scary games from Gamefly. Silent Hill Origins, oh god! Also Chris goes as Steve from Blue's Clues for Halloween. Awesome.
By this time, work was getting better as I got used to it. So it's not so bad.

November

....yeah, the less said on the month the better. However, we did go to Nekocon! Fun was had by all. We even went as Heero and Duo. It was awesome. As soon as we got home, we pre-regged for Magfest.

December

December was so-so. Started off well enough. Chris had a good birthday, even though he was stressed with school work. Took him out to dinner and we just had a nice evening together. Eventually school and work was done for the year as we both have two weeks of break. Unfortunately, a virus ran rampant through the house which everyone got. >.< And during the week of Christmas too. But Christmas came and everyone was okay again. Got good stuff, including a paid for pre-reg from Chris' parents to Katsucon. Yay! Also got Guitar Hero on Tour and the Orange Box from Chris. <3

All in all, it's been a great year. I expect much from 2009. Especially March. ^^

But a short one. My birthday was great, the 4th of July was awesome (especially the conclusion of the fireworks show, pictures coming soon to show why) and Chris is the best ever because he bought me not only a new DS but also a Wii. <3 <3 <3

Also for those with a Wii, my number is 7314 0878 6098 5692

Yes, the rumors are true. I'm still alive. And still unemployed. T_T

But other than that things are good. I've just mainly been playing this game with Chris called, "This is why we should get a Wii." Except I don't think I'm doing very well, because he's still all, "Buuut the games are mainly for kids and I don't see many games I want...etc etc." Blah. Perhaps I need a new tactic. Suggestions anyone?

ETA: For note, he has been debating getting one, he just doesn't see many games he has an interest in on the Wii and thus can't justify buying one right now, which makes sense obviously. Because why buy a game system that doesn't have any games you want to play. And to be fair, he hasn't bought a PS3 for himself because I have no interest in the games. They need to make like a WiiPs3 hybrid or something... SOMEONE GET ON THAT STAT..

So to start this post off positively, my Chris is the best boyfriend ever EVER in the history of all boyfriends. Ever. Times infinity! I <3 him and he's also an awesome cook. <strike>And a great kisser</strike> OSHIT TMI SORRY GUYS! So yeah. <3<3<3

Beyond that however, my day has been like, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! *brain explodes*"
Since Christmas, I have been behind on a lot of my bills. Currently, my car insurance is about to be cancelled if I don't pay them ASAP, Toyota keeps calling home (and January's due date is just around the corner), the County needs my property tax, and because of my weekly income, I can't just send them off all at once. The next two weeks are going to be fun! *cries*
